2000 Triumph Tt600 Owners Manual

2000 Triumph Tt600 Owners Manual Rating: 8,6/10 266 reviews

I have a Triumph TT600 2000 model. The battery keeps going flat after about a weeks riding (without lights as this makes it worse,). I have paid around $800-$900 dollars to a triumph motorcycle repairer, replacing the rectifier and battery. Bike still does it - probably worse since I got it back from repairer. Also when battery is running low (loses power) bikes instruments start flashing and eventually cut out altogether!! I feel the repairer is repairing by elimination at my expense!

Hi, Keithjones1 it should be noted that the reasons your check engine light or CEL stays on constantly or flashes and your bike will or will not start and may turn over or not, these conditions will vary from bike to bike depending on the year, make, and model and you should always refer to your owners/service manual for proper diagnostic procedures. It should also be noted that any type of prior work done to the bike or an abnormal event occurrence IE: adding accessories, electrical curiosity/adventures, laying bike down/crashes, rainstorms/bike washings just before CEL light issues started can be significant hints/aids into tracking down the gremlin, also carry the appropriate jumper wire to access fault codes to reduce the risk of being stranded or towed also keep in mind that your CEL comes to life if anything, and I do mean anything isn't 100% with the ECM like parameter spikes. This means that you could be staring at a major repair, or your speedometer sensor is contaminated and needs to be cleaned. And the usual suspects are: 1. Severely discharged or a damaged battery check the terminals for damage or corrosion, check the battery cables at 'BOTH' ends for loose, corroded, or broken connectors, 'INSIDE' and outside the cable harness, perform connector wiggle test and check cables with an ohmmeter if necessary, you should have 12.5 volts or more and be able to pass a proper 'LOAD' test if necessary, you may have a preliminary reading of 12.5 volts or more but little or zero amperage the battery is faulty and must be replaced, AGM batteries fail in this scenario more so than lead acid batteries.

2017 mercury 15hp 2 stroke owners manual pdf. Faulty charging system. Faulty system sensor some models have up to 40 sensors 4. Faulty safety switches: run/off, ignition, clutch lever, neutral, side stand, tip over, fuel, and or their connections. The engine got wet where it didn't like to get wet. Faulty ignition circuit spark plugs, coils, cables etc. Broken wire or worn insulation exposing wire to a ground situation especially inside wire harness at tight bends around fairing brackets, under dash panels, under fuel tanks over cylinder heads etc. Many harnesses are open on the ends that will allow water to enter and accumulate at v-bends.

Dielectric grease and contact cleaner are your best friends for wire/cable/harness connectors, look for corroded, broken, or loose pins/sockets. Do I assertain from your message that the battery is not charging? As if your battery is flat there will be no ignition. If the battery is being charged then check the fuel line filter. There is one in the tank inline with the fuel tap.

It may be blocked and that moment or so with the engine at rest, may be enough to get you going again. The battery voltage when fully charged and standing should be 12.8volts. A battery charging should be between 13.8volts and 14.5volts, no higher or else permanent damage to the battery will be done. Hope this helps. Nov 20, 2010. Ok i see, Have you checked the bike battery?

Is it charged or has the alarm worn it down? One thing about bike alarms is that they constantly drain power from the bike battery when the alarm is armed on not. If you ride your bike every days no problems, if you ride on week ends only you could find yourself in this predicament again so, on the alarm wiring you should be able to locate the power supply to it from your bike battery, this wire will have a fuse in it so check the fuse too, and if you want to keep it off because your done with alarms, then just leave the fuse out and you should be back in business.
